Kathy Sabine

Kathy Sabine is known as an American weather forecaster. She is most famous for being the chief meteorologist at 9NEWS in Denver, Colorado.

Background

Kathy Sabine was born in Truckee, California. Kathy started school studying to be a veterinarian. She tried getting her degree in Veterinary Science at Cal Poly but then changed her major to Journalism. Kathy's work on her degree in Meteorology started at Metropolitan State College in Denver and Mississippi State University. Kathy built up an affection for nature in her old neighborhood of Truckee, a little mountain town in northern California close to Lake Tahoe. She figured out how to ski when she was two and her family was engaged with a ski business when she was a youngster. Kathy was additionally exceptionally in love with ponies and rodeo.

Relationships

Kathy is married with two children and a little girl. She married Scott Crawford, a home manufacturer in 2005 and their wedding service was held at Beaver Creek, Colorado.

Career

Kathy started her TV career at the NBC station in San Luis Obispo then proceeded to work for ABC in Santa Barbara, Fox in Salinas/Monterey and ABC in San Jose California. Kathy has filled in on the Today Show in New York for Al Roker during the week and Chief Meteorologist Janice Huff from WNBC in New York.

Her weather forecasts can be heard on KOSI 101.1 and 98.5 KYGO. She produces a daily forecast for the Fort Collins Coloradoan paper. She composes a daily climate forecast on 9NEWS.com. She is an American Meteorological Society (AMS) and National Weather Association (NWA) seal-holder.

Kathy is the 2018 victor of the Heartland Emmy Award for Best Meteorologist. She has been granted seven Heartland Emmy Awards for Best Meteorologist. She has four CBA or Colorado Broadcasting Awards and two AP grants, one for news writing. Westword named her "most loved news character" and "best climate anchor". Kathy was featured in Sports Illustrated, Men's Health, Zenith Woman, Colorado Dogs and Cats magazine, Rockies Magazine, The Weather Channel Calendar, and HerLife Magazine.

Hobbies

When she isn't working, Kathy enjoys the Colorado outdoors riding her ponies, running, skiing, and climbing. Kathy additionally gives time to neighborhood causes and animal shelters. She appreciates visiting school homerooms sharing her insight into climate and nature with children .. hopefully rousing young ladies to pursue a career in math and science. Kathy is proud to be an establishment board member for Teen With A Dream, a young disease association. She is associated with the National Western Stock Show and Colorado Horse Council.
