Early Life
Jim Axelrod was born in New York City in 1962. He grew up in the Bronx and attended the Bronx High School of Science. After graduating, he attended the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned a degree in political science.
Career
After college, Jim Axelrod began his career in journalism as a reporter for the Associated Press in Philadelphia. He then moved to New York City to work as a reporter for the New York Daily News. In 1996, he joined CBS News as a correspondent and has since become one of the network’s most recognizable faces.
