Jeff Zucker is an American media executive and the current president of CNN Worldwide. He is best known for his work as the president and CEO of NBC Universal from 2007 to 2011. He has also served as the executive producer of the Today Show and executive producer of NBC Nightly News.

Early Life

Jeff Zucker was born on April 9, 1965 in Homestead, Florida. He attended North Miami Beach High School and graduated in 1983. He then attended Harvard University, where he was the president of The Harvard Crimson. After graduating from Harvard in 1986, he began his career in television as a researcher for NBC Sports.

Career

In 1989, Zucker was hired as a writer for the Today Show. He quickly rose through the ranks and was named executive producer of the show in 1992. Under his leadership, the show became the most-watched morning news program in the United States. He was also the executive producer of NBC Nightly News from 2000 to 2004.

In 2005, Zucker was named president and CEO of NBC Universal. During his tenure, he oversaw the launch of the NBC Universal cable networks, including USA Network, Syfy, and Bravo. He also oversaw the launch of the NBC Universal movie studio, Universal Pictures.

In 2011, Zucker left NBC Universal and became the president of CNN Worldwide. Under his leadership, CNN has become the most-watched cable news network in the United States. He has also overseen the launch of CNN International, CNN en EspaƱol, and CNN Digital.
