Background and Age
José Álvaro Osorio Balvín was born on May 7, 1985 in Medellin, Colombia. At age 17, he moved to the United States. He moved to Oklahoma and then New York to learn English and was impacted by the music he heard there. He got intrigued by music at a youthful age while tuning in to rap, champeta, bachata, and reggae on the radio. He at that point came back to Medellín and picked up prominence performing at clubs in the city.

Career and Net Worth
Balvin signed to EMI Colombia in 2009 and released his first single, "Ella Me Cautivó," which charted at 35 on the U.S. tropical chart. This was trailed by the arrival of the full-length album, Real in 2010. Balvin contributed four tunes to the soundtrack of the Tim Bulot film El Negocio. Every one of them charted, including "En Lo Oscuro," which hit the top spot in his local nation.
Balvin was a featured vocalist on the Colombian rendition of Robin Thicke's crush single "Blurred Lines," which was released in October of 2013, before his own subsequent collection, La Familia. Every one of the four singles from the collection charted in Colombia's Top Ten, and "Yo Te Lo Dije" hit number two on the beat chart and number nine on the Latin pop chart in the U.S. The B Sides assortment appeared in September of 2014, including two increasingly radio chart-beating singles in "6 AM" and "Ay Vamos." The last won a Latin Grammy for Best Urban Song.
Balvin started 2018 with a bunch of community oriented singles: "Machika" with Jeon and Anitta; "X" with Nicky Jam; and Cardi B's "I Like It" with Bad Bunny. In the wake of driving the 2018 Billboard Latin Music Awards finalists' rundown with nominations in 12 classes, Balvin reported the May arrival of Vibras. Again working with producer Alejandro Ramírez, otherwise known as Sky Rompiendo el Bajo, who has been his musical partner since La Familia, the set moved reggaeton in new ways and sounds as it played host to a large number of guests including Carla Morrison, Wisin y Yandel, Zion y Lennox, Brazilian pop star Anitta, and Aruban singer Jeon.
In November 2019, at the 2019 American Music Awards, Balvín was nominated for the Favorite Artist in the Latin category and won the honor.
