Hillary Dawn Scott-Tyrrell was born on April 1, 1986 in Nashville, TN. She was born to guardians Linda Davis and Lang Scott. Her mom is a music artist and her father is also a musician and entrepreneur. She has a more youthful sister named Rylee Jean. She was inspired by the universe of music since her youth years.

Scott at first worked with singer-songwriter Victoria Shaw during her time at Middle Tennessee State University. Before long, she met her future bandmates Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood. They wrote their first tune titled 'All We'd Ever Need' and they eventually signed a record deal with Capitol Nashville in 2007. Scott shaped Lady Antebellum in 2006 along with Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood. On October 2, 2007, they released their debut presentation single, 'Love Don't Live Here'.
