Early Life

Gary Hooper was born on January 25, 1988 in Harlow, Essex, England. He is an English professional footballer who plays as a striker for Sheffield Wednesday. Hooper began his career at Southend United, where he made his professional debut in 2006. He then moved to Scunthorpe United in 2007, where he scored an impressive 53 goals in 111 appearances.


In 2010, Hooper signed for Celtic, where he went on to become one of the most prolific strikers in the Scottish Premier League. He scored 82 goals in 138 appearances for the club, helping them to three consecutive league titles. He also won the Scottish Cup and the League Cup twice during his time at Celtic.

In 2013, Hooper signed for Norwich City, where he scored 16 goals in 54 appearances. He then moved to Sheffield Wednesday in 2015, where he has since scored 33 goals in 81 appearances. He has also been a regular in the England U21 squad, making 11 appearances and scoring three goals.

International Career

Hooper has represented England at various youth levels, including the U16, U17, U19 and U21 teams. He has made 11 appearances for the U21 team, scoring three goals. He has yet to make an appearance for the senior team, but has been called up to the squad on several occasions.
