Felicia Middlebrooks is a renowned American journalist and radio personality. She is best known for her work as a news anchor and reporter for WGN-TV in Chicago, Illinois. She has also worked as a radio host for WGN Radio and as a correspondent for CNN.
Early Life
Felicia Middlebrooks was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 15, 1965. She grew up in the city’s South Side and attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she earned a degree in broadcast journalism. After graduating, she began her career in radio, working as a news anchor and reporter for WGN-TV in Chicago.
Career
In 1995, Middlebrooks joined WGN Radio as a news anchor and reporter. She quickly became a popular figure in the Chicago media scene, and in 1997 she was named the station’s morning news anchor. She also hosted a weekly talk show, “The Felicia Middlebrooks Show,” which aired on WGN Radio from 1997 to 2002.
In 2002, Middlebrooks left WGN Radio to become a correspondent for CNN. She reported on a variety of topics, including the Iraq War, Hurricane Katrina, and the 2008 presidential election. She also served as a substitute anchor for CNN’s “American Morning” program.
In 2009, Middlebrooks returned to WGN-TV as a news anchor and reporter. She has since become one of the station’s most recognizable faces, appearing on the nightly news and hosting a weekly news magazine program, “Chicago Tonight.”
In addition to her work in television and radio, Middlebrooks is also an active member of the Chicago community. She serves on the board of directors for the Chicago Urban League and is a member of the Chicago Association of Black Journalists.
