Early Life

Erez Biton was born in the small town of Kfar Saba, Israel in 1975. He was the youngest of three children and grew up in a traditional Jewish household. His father was a rabbi and his mother was a homemaker. From a young age, Erez was exposed to the teachings of the Torah and the Jewish faith. He was an avid reader and enjoyed learning about different cultures and religions.

Education

Erez attended the local elementary school and then went on to study at the prestigious Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He graduated with a degree in philosophy and literature in 1998. During his time at university, Erez was an active member of the student union and was involved in various social and political activities.

Career

After graduating, Erez began his career as a journalist. He wrote for several newspapers and magazines, covering a wide range of topics from politics to culture. In 2003, he was appointed as the editor-in-chief of the Israeli newspaper Haaretz. During his tenure, he was credited with modernizing the paper and making it more accessible to a wider audience.

In 2008, Erez left Haaretz to pursue a career in politics. He was elected to the Knesset, the Israeli parliament, in 2009 and served as a member of the Labor Party. During his time in the Knesset, he was a vocal advocate for social justice and human rights. He was also a strong supporter of the peace process between Israel and Palestine.

In 2013, Erez left the Knesset and returned to journalism. He is currently the editor-in-chief of the Israeli news website Ynet. He is also a regular contributor to various international publications, including The New York Times and The Guardian.

Legacy

Erez Biton is remembered as a passionate advocate for social justice and human rights. He was a strong supporter of the peace process between Israel and Palestine and was a vocal critic of the Israeli government’s policies.
