Frederick Dierks Bentley was born on November 20, 1975 in Phoenix, Arizona. His folks were Leon Bentley and Catherine Childs. His father Leon, worked for a bank. His mom Catherine remained at home to raise him. Dierks went to Culver Academies and later graduated from the Lawrenceville School in 1993. He went to the University of Vermont for a year and afterward he moved to Vanderbilt University in Tennessee. He graduated in 1997.
