Early Life

Deng Pufang was born in Beijing, China on October 8, 1944. He was the son of Deng Xiaoping, a prominent Chinese leader and revolutionary. Deng Pufang was raised in a privileged family and received a good education. He attended the prestigious Beijing University and graduated with a degree in economics in 1966.

Political Career

Deng Pufang began his political career in the early 1970s. He was appointed as the Deputy Director of the Beijing Municipal People's Congress in 1972. He was also appointed as the Deputy Director of the Beijing Municipal People's Political Consultative Conference in 1975. In 1978, Deng Pufang was appointed as the Vice-Chairman of the All-China Federation of Disabled Persons.

Advocacy for the Disabled

Deng Pufang is best known for his advocacy for the disabled. In 1983, he founded the China Disabled Persons' Federation (CDPF). The CDPF is a non-governmental organization that works to promote the rights of disabled people in China. Deng Pufang has been the Chairman of the CDPF since its inception.
