Background and Age

Brenda Gail Webb was born on January 9, 1951 in Paintsville, Kentucky. Her family moved to Wabash, Indiana, when Gayle was four, and her father passed on only a couple of years after from cancer. Gayle was the most youthful of eight children. One of her sisters, effectively already out of the house when Gayle was born, was future country music legend Loretta Lynn.

Gayle was a singer since early on, and her affection for music and her sister's prosperity enlivened her to get a guitar and perform in high school. She additionally sang backup in her sibling's band and went with Lynn on tour, getting an early taste of the life of a professional touring musician.

The record label was glad to have Gayle follow in her sister's well known strides, and they released three additional singles throughout the following three years, all of which helped Gayle make some strides with audience members. Yet, Gayle chose at an opportune time in her career that she needed to become well known when she left Decca for United Artists in 1974. There, Gayle improved and her first album collection, Crystal Gayle, was released that same year. "Wrong Road Again" turned into her first real hit, finding a spot in the main 10 on the country music chart.

After two years, Gayle would discover her way to No. 1 with "I'll Get Over You," and hot on its heels came the track "Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue," which hit No. 1 on the country music charts and No. 2 on the pop charts. The collection from which the hit came, We Must Believe in Magic, earned Gayle her first Grammy, for Best Female Country Vocal, and she turned into the first female country artist to go platinum.

At the 2019 CMA Awards, Crystal Gayle, uncovered what her fellow country music singing legend sister, Loretta has shown her throughout the years. Using her sister's advice, Crystal figured out how to carve her own path in the music business. She said she gained such a great amount from her sister. Crystal has become well known in the business by making music that is entirely different than her sister's.
