Early Life
Charles Thomas Ireland, Jr. was born on April 15, 1945 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was the son of Charles Thomas Ireland, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Ireland. His father was a successful businessman and his mother was a homemaker. Charles was the oldest of three children, with two younger sisters.
Growing up, Charles was an active and outgoing child. He was a natural leader and was always eager to take on new challenges. He was an excellent student and was involved in many extracurricular activities, such as sports, music, and theater. He was also a member of the Boy Scouts of America and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.
Education
Charles attended Tulane University in New Orleans, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. After graduating, he went on to pursue a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago.
Career
After completing his MBA, Charles began his career in the banking industry. He worked for several banks in the New Orleans area, eventually becoming the Vice President of Commercial Banking at First National Bank. In this role, he was responsible for managing the bank’s commercial loan portfolio and developing new business relationships.
In the late 1980s, Charles decided to pursue a career in real estate. He founded his own real estate development company, Ireland Development Group, and quickly became one of the most successful developers in the New Orleans area. He was responsible for developing several high-profile projects, including the renovation of the historic French Quarter.
Later Years
In his later years, Charles remained active in the business world. He served on the board of directors for several local companies and was a major contributor to several charitable organizations. He was also an active member of his church and was a mentor to many young people in the community.
Charles passed away on August 15, 2020 at the age of 75. He was remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather, as well as a successful businessman and philanthropist. His legacy will live on through the many lives he touched.
