Butch Vig is known as an American musician, songwriter, and record producer. He is most famous for being the drummer and co-producer of the alternative rock band Garbage.
Background and Age
Bryan David "Butch" Vig was born on August 2, 1955 in Viroqua, WI. He was born to Dr. DeVerne and Betty Vig, a music instructor, in Viroqua, Wisconsin. Vig has two kin, Chris and Lisa. Vig obtained the moniker Butch as a kid, because of the extreme hair cut his father gave him. Vig studied piano for a long time. In the wake of seeing The Who perform on The Smothers Brothers, he swapped his piano for a $60 drum unit. Moving to Madison, Vig enrolled at the University of Wisconsin to study film.
While a student at the University of Wisconsin, Vig met his inevitable Garbage bandmate Steve Marker. Vig contributed a few electronic music soundtrack pieces to low-spending films, including one melody on Slumber Party Massacre, a Hollywood B-motion picture. This soundtrack work blended Vig's enthusiasm for the control of sound. Vig joined various carport pop groups, including Eclipse, and in 1978 framed Spooner with Duke Erikson, Dave Benton, Jeff Walker, and Joel Tappero.
Married, Wife and Kids
Vig is married to Beth Halper, a former DreamWorks official. They have a little girl named Bo Violet.
Career and Net Worth
Butch Vig was the chief producer of the alternative rock blast of the mid '90s, helming records for groups including Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, and Sonic Youth, before discovering accomplishment as a performer with the band, Garbage. After producing the Smashing Pumpkins' top rated 1993 album Siamese Dream, Vig formed Garbage with Marker, before long selecting bassist Duke Erikson and eventually vocalist Shirley Manson, formerly of the musical gathering Angelfish. While Garbage came to fruition, Vig proceeded with his thorough production plan, working on projects including Freedy Johnston's heavenly This Perfect World, Helmet's Betty, and Soul Asylum's Let Your Dim Light Shine. At long last, Garbage's self-titled presentation appeared during the mid year of 1995, immediately turning into a hit on the quality of generally welcomed singles including "Stupid Girl" and "Only Happy When It Rains."
In December 2019, the well known singer Alanis Morissette declared a North American tour in 2020 that will highlight her extraordinary classic album, "Jagged Little Pill." The 31-date tour will start on June 2, 2020, and have 31 dates, including urban territories like Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, and Nashville. Morissette will be joined by the band Garbage and singer Liz Phair on the tour.
