Early Life
Brian Wilson was born on June 20, 1942 in Inglewood, California. He was the eldest of three sons born to Murry and Audree Wilson. His father was a machinist and his mother was a housewife. From an early age, Brian was exposed to music, as his father was a fan of country and western music and his mother was a fan of jazz and classical music.
At the age of 12, Brian began to take piano lessons and soon developed an interest in writing music. He was also influenced by the music of Chuck Berry, Little Richard, and the Four Freshmen. In 1961, Brian and his brothers, Dennis and Carl, formed the Beach Boys.
Career
Brian Wilson was the primary songwriter and producer for the Beach Boys, and he wrote some of their most iconic songs, including "Surfin' USA," "Good Vibrations," and "God Only Knows." He also produced the group's albums, Pet Sounds and Smile, which are widely considered to be two of the most influential albums of all time.
In addition to his work with the Beach Boys, Brian has also released several solo albums, including Brian Wilson (1988), Imagination (1998), and No Pier Pressure (2015). He has also collaborated with other artists, including Elton John, Paul McCartney, and Jeff Beck.
