Bob Orton Jr. was born on November 10, 1950 in St. Louis, Missouri. His father, Bob Orton Sr., was a professional wrestler and his mother, Helen, was a homemaker. He grew up in a wrestling family and was exposed to the business from a young age. He attended Hazelwood High School in St. Louis and graduated in 1968.
Professional Wrestling Career
Bob Orton Jr. began his professional wrestling career in 1974. He wrestled in various promotions throughout the United States, including the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), the American Wrestling Association (AWA), and the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). He was known for his technical wrestling style and his ability to work with a variety of opponents.
In 1984, Orton signed with the WWF and began wrestling under the name "Cowboy" Bob Orton.
