Lou Williams is known as an American professional basketball player for the NBA team, the Los Angeles Clippers. He is most famous for being the best 6th man off the bench and his high scoring performances.

Background and Education

Louis Tyrone Williams was born in Memphis, Tennessee on October 27, 1986. He is one of the three children of his folks, Willie Louis Williams and Janice Faulkner. He has a sister named Shaun Haynes and a brother by the name of Taurus Stinnett.

He went to South Gwinnett High School where he played elite high school basketball under mentor and coach Roger Fleetwood. During his junior season, he drove his school squad to the 5A Georgia State Championship. He earned Georgia's Mr. Basketball title and was a 4-time All-State choice.

Career

Williams did not impress NBA scouts and he wound up at the second round of the draft. He was eventually picked 45th by the Philadelphia 76ers.

He played thirty games in his first season and finished the season with weak averages of 1.9 points and .3 assists. He was sent off to play for Fort Worth Flyers in the Development League the following season. After a great season at the D-League, Lou was called back up to the 76ers. He made many stops with different teams as a dependable bench player.

In June 2018, he was picked up by the Los Angeles Clippers in return for Chris Paul and a 2018 first-round pick. Toward the end of the season, he was named the NBA Sixth Man of the Year for the second time in his career. In April 2019, he made headlines when he led the Clippers to a Game 2 win over the defending champions, the Golden State Warriors in the first round of the NBA Playoffs.

Lou Williams is not currently married. In 2014, he was reputed to be romantically involved with two ladies at the same time who were aware of each other. The names of the ladies were Rece Mitchell and Ashley Henderson.

Popular rapper Drake confirmed in a song lyric that Williams was dating two. So in addition to the fact that he attracted the respect of rappers and criminals, he openly juggled two sweethearts which made him a legend among NBA fans. In an interview with SI, Lou did not brag and claimed that he was not that special, “I hear about it every day. Every single day. More players do that than you know. I was just the first person to have it mentioned on a song.”

In 2018, Lou split from one of his girlfriends, Rece Mitchell. It was speculated that she was seeing Drake who had been smitten with her when he wrote that rap lyric about Lou.
