Rory Gates

Rory Gates is famous for being the son of Microsoft's founder and billionaire Bill Gates.

Background

Rory John Gates was born on May 23, 1999, in Seattle, Washington. He is the second son of business investor and innovator Bill Gates and philanthropist Melinda Gates. Rory has two siblings, Jennifer Katharine and Phoebe Adele Gates.

Melinda Gates, a philanthropist, is also a fellow benefactor of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Rory shares a strong bond with his family, particularly with his mother. He enjoys his mother's company and spends a great deal of time with her. Melinda says Rory to be an uncommon youngster and dazzling sibling. Melinda is proud of Rory because he advocates as a women's activist.

Rory's oldest sister, Jennifer, is enthused about pony riding and even participated in various contests. His more youthful sister, Adele, goes to the Professional Children's School in New York for her studies. Rory completed his education at Duke University and earned a degree in Computer Software Engineering and Economics. Rory then entered Fuqua School of Business, from where he got his MBA degree. In addition, Rory was not allowed to use phones until the age of 13 years. When he saw his buddies using their mobile phones, he approached his father to buy him a phone. His sisters also weren't allowed to use their phones. Despite his father being the wealthiest person and a tech mogul, Bill raised his children away from the attention of electronics. In 2012, his parents finally allowed him to use a mobile phone as he needed it to communicate with them in case of an emergency.

Dating and Relationships

Rory has said that he is single, but it is assumed that he dated many of his classmates during his time at Duke because of his high-profile background and personality.

Career

Rory has not yet started his career, but he is soon expected to work in his father's company, Microsoft. Even though Bill Gates intends to donate the vast majority of his fortune to charity, his children recognize what they must do to keep their heritage alive. Rory is considerably more persistent in taking the organization far ahead than his father Bill did to make him proud. He surely wants his father to know that he doesn't have to rely on his fortunes and empire to make a name for himself.
