Rashida Leah Jones was born on February 25, 1976 in Los Angeles, CA. Her mom is an actress and her father is a musician and record producer. Jones and her sister were brought up in Judaism by their mom. Her father stated how he would regularly locate the six-year-old Jones under the sheet after sleep time, perusing five books one after another with an electric lamp. Jones had the capacity to play old style piano since early on. Jones went to The Buckley School in Sherman Oaks, California. She was associated with theater at Buckley, with tutelage from acting instructor Tim Hillman. When she was 14 years old, her parents got separated and she moved with her mom to Brentwood. Ronson proposed to her with a crossword puzzle, Will You Marry Me, on her 27th birthday celebration in the wake of sharing a productive relationship for approximately a year. The two of them eventually split up.

She was in a relationship with Colin Jost for a long time. She is currently dating Ezra Koenig, an American Musician.

Jones played the role of Louisa Fenn on Boston Public, later she guest featured in Freaks and Geeks. She was offered a part on 24 episodes of The Office. She had her biggest break when she got a leading role on Parks and Recreation.
