Mark Hamill was born in Oakland, California, on September 25, 1951. He was the fourth of seven children. His father was in the U.S. Naval force, so the family relocated regularly, and Hamill grew up over the world, from California to New York to Japan. After Hamill graduated from high school abroad, his family moved back to the U.S. He enrolled at Los Angeles City College, where he studied drama and theater arts.

Hamill made it big as an actor when handled the part of Luke Skywalker in George Lucas' science fiction epic Star Wars. In August 2019, a trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was released. Mark will return to the series as his popular Luke Skywalker character.
