John Lithgow

John Lithgow is known as an American actor, musician, and author. He is most famous for his roles in 3rd Rock from the Sun, The Crown, and Dexter.

Biography and Age

John Arthur Lithgow was born on October 19, 1945 in Rochester, NY. Lithgow was born into a talented family. His mom was an actress, and his father was a theater producer. When he was a youngster, Lithgow's family moved to Ohio, where his father produced neighborhood Shakespeare celebrations. It was at one such celebration that Lithgow made his youth acting introduction, and he appeared in a significant number of his father's productions. In spite of his initial involvement in theater, Lithgow concentrated on painting and later enrolled at Harvard University to study the arts.

While at Harvard he participated broadly in student theater and eventually chose to pursue acting as a career. Subsequent to graduating in 1967, Lithgow burned through two scholastic years at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art on a Fulbright scholarship.

Marriage, Wife and Kids

Lithgow's first spouse, Jean Taynton, left him following 14 years of marriage in 1980 because of John being unfaithful with actress Liv Ullmann. Subsequent to causing the rot of his marriage, Lithgow promised he'd never get married again, however, destiny interceded. In 1981, John got married to Mary Yeager.

Af first, it appeared to be far-fetched that John and Mary could develop a relationship together, however, Lithgow fell head over heels for her. After very nearly 40 years together, the star actor says he's the least happy when they're apart, which sadly happens frequently. Mary is a professor at UCLA, while John's work takes him around the globe. The couple shares two children together.

In 1986, John Lithgow won an Emmy Award for a guest appearance on Amazing Stories. John got his biggest break when he scored the role of a professor, in Third Rock from the Sun in 1996. Lithgow kept getting film roles in the mid 21st century, prominently loaning his voice to the humble lowlife Lord Farquaad in the first entry of the animated Shrek film series.

In 2017, Lithgow appeared as an excessively eager grandfather in the comedy Daddy's Home 2 and as an ill-mannered land investor in the comedy Beatriz at Dinner. His other striking credits from this period included the Netflix TV series The Crown, where he depicted Winston Churchill. For his performance, Lithgow won his 6th Emmy Award. In December 2019, the film Bombshell was released. John stars in the film as Roger Ailes.
