Jamie Collins was born in McCall Creek, Mississippi on October 20, 1989. He was born to African American guardians Carolyn and Fred Collins. Collins went to Franklin County High School located in Meadville, Mississippi where he started his football career. Playing for the Franklin County Bulldogs, Collins played both as a wide receiver, quarterback, and safety before he turned into an unmistakable talented quarterback and linebacker.

Career

Jamie Collins was drafted by the New England Patriots as the 52nd overall pick in the NFL draft of 2013. He was the seventh linebacker to be chosen in the draft and on May 17, 2013, he agreed a four-year contract worth $3.75 million including a bonus reward of $1.1 million and guarantee of $1.86 million. Jamie was set as a reinforcement outside linebacker toward the start of the 2013 season.

He showed up for the Patriots in their match against Buffalo Bills. The Patriots triumphed over the Bills with a record of 23 – 21. Toward the finish of his rookie season, he drove the Patriots to the AFC Championship but they lost 26 – 16 to the Denver Broncos.

Jamie Collins got another leap forward in 2014, driving the Patriots to win the AFC Championship title. They went on to win the Super Bowl XLIX that year. Collins was traded to the Cleveland Browns in 2016 in return for a 2017 third round draft pick. After three years, he came back to New England and signed a new contract in 2019.
