Background and Age

Illiana Lydia Petrovna Mironova was born on July 26, 1945, in Chiswick, London, England. She was the second of three children of Vasiliy Petrovich "Basil" Mironov and Kathleen Rogers. Mirren's father played with the London Philharmonic. He later left the ensemble to turn into a taxi driver and driving test analyst, the two professions that better bolstered his family, and eventually wound up working as a government employee with the Ministry of Transport. Mirren's mom was the little girl of a butcher who provided meat to Queen Victoria.
