Early Life
Flavio Briatore was born in Verzuolo, Italy, on 12 April 1950. He grew up in a working-class family and had to work from a young age to help support his family. He worked in a variety of jobs, including as a waiter and a door-to-door salesman.
Career
In the late 1970s, Briatore moved to Milan and began working in the fashion industry. He quickly rose through the ranks and eventually became the managing director of the Italian fashion house, Fiorucci. He was also involved in the launch of the Benetton clothing brand.
In 1989, Briatore was appointed as the manager of the Benetton Formula One team. He was instrumental in the team's success, helping them to win two Constructors' Championships and one Drivers' Championship.
In 1997, Briatore left Benetton and joined the Renault team. He was again successful, helping the team to win two Constructors' Championships and one Drivers' Championship.
In 2008, Briatore left Renault and was replaced by Eric Boullier. He then went on to become the chairman of the Queens Park Rangers football club. He was involved in the club's promotion to the Premier League in 2011.
In 2013, Briatore was banned from Formula One for his involvement in the 'Crashgate' scandal. He was later reinstated in 2017.
