Eliza Archard Conner was an American educator, author, and suffragist. She was born in 1845 in New York City to a prominent family. She attended the prestigious Packer Collegiate Institute and graduated in 1863. After graduation, she taught at the school for several years before becoming a principal at the Brooklyn Female Academy.
Early Career
Conner was a pioneer in the field of education. She was a strong advocate for the education of women and was a leader in the movement to make education more accessible to all. She wrote several books on the subject, including “The Education of Women” and “The Education of Girls”. She was also a strong proponent of the use of technology in the classroom, and was one of the first to introduce the use of the typewriter in the classroom.
