Early Life

Brian Stelter was born on September 3, 1985 in Damascus, Maryland. He attended Damascus High School, where he was a member of the National Honor Society and the student council. After graduating in 2003, he attended Towson University, where he earned a degree in mass communication and media studies.

Career

Stelter began his career as a media reporter for The New York Times in 2007. He quickly rose to prominence for his coverage of the 2008 presidential election and the media industry. In 2010, he was named one of Forbes' 30 Under 30 in Media.
