Early Life
Andrew Serwer was born in New York City in 1961. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he earned a bachelor's degree in journalism. After graduating, he began his career as a reporter for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. He then moved to the Wall Street Journal, where he worked as a reporter and editor for nearly a decade.
Career
In 1996, Serwer joined CNN as a business correspondent. He quickly rose through the ranks and became the network's senior business correspondent in 2000. During his time at CNN, he reported on some of the biggest business stories of the decade, including the dot-com bubble and the Enron scandal.
In 2006, Serwer left CNN to become the managing editor of Fortune magazine. In this role, he oversees the magazine's editorial content and is responsible for setting the editorial direction.
