Alexandra Patricia Morgan was born on July 2, 1989, in San Dimas, California. In spite of the fact that she was a multisport competitor growing up, Morgan didn't start playing organized soccer until she was 14 years of age. She went to Diamond Bar High School, where she was a three-time all-group pick and was named a NSCAA All-American.

After high school, Morgan went to the University of California at Berkeley, where she drove the Golden Bears to the NCAA Tournament in every one of her four years (and to the second round twice). In 2008, she helped the United States get to the title of the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup, scoring the triumphant objective in the last against North Korea—named the Goal of the Tournament and second-best Goal of the Year by FIFA.

Career

Hampered by knee damage during the spring of 2015, Morgan was not at full health by the start of the FIFA World Cup in June. The star forward came back to the starting lineup and proceeded to help the U.S. ladies guarantee their first World Cup title since 1999. Morgan and her teammates were favored to win the gold award at the 2016 Olympic Games. In the quarterfinals versus Sweden, she scored a pivotal game-tying goal in the 78th minute. The Americans ended up losing the match on extra shots, marking their earliest exit from Olympic challenge in the group's history.

The leader of a national squad set on winning the title, Morgan set the tone with a record-tying five goals as the American ladies trounced Thailand, 13-0, in their 2019 World Cup opening match.

Morgan has been married to ace soccer player Servando Carrasco since December 31, 2014. The two initially met at UC Berkeley where they fell in love. Alex Morgan and her spouse Servando Carrasco are one of the rare ace soccer couples in the United States. As Morgan has been making headlines at the 2019 World Cup, Carrasco plays in the MLS for the Los Angeles Galaxy. For a short timeframe, the couple resided in the same city as Morgan played for the Orlando Pride, while Carrasco was with Orlando City.

Toward the finish of the 2017 season, Orlando City declined Carrasco's option, and he signed with the Galaxy in 2018 which forced the couple to have a long distance relationship.
