Early Life
Richard Rychtarik was born in 1919 in the small town of Kladno, Czechoslovakia. He was the youngest of three children born to a middle-class family. His father was a blacksmith and his mother was a homemaker. Richard was an inquisitive child and had a passion for learning. He attended school in Kladno and excelled in his studies. He was particularly interested in mathematics and science, and he was determined to pursue a career in engineering.
World War II
In 1939, World War II broke out and Richard was drafted into the Czechoslovakian army. He served in the infantry and was stationed in the eastern front. He was captured by the Germans in 1941 and was sent to a prisoner of war camp in Poland. He managed to escape and made his way back to Czechoslovakia. He was determined to continue his studies and enrolled in the Czech Technical University in Prague.
Post-War Career
After the war, Richard graduated from the Czech Technical University with a degree in engineering. He then moved to the United States and settled in Chicago. He worked as an engineer for several companies and eventually started his own engineering firm. He was a successful entrepreneur and was well respected in the engineering community. He was also an active member of the Czech-American community in Chicago and was involved in many charitable organizations.
Legacy
