Background

Sarah Colby Spain was born on August 18, 1980, in Cleveland, Ohio, Sarah experienced childhood in Lake Forest, IL, where she was an All-Conference and All-Area basketball player and she was also All-State in both field hockey and track. She proceeded to go to Cornell University, where she was co-chief of the Track and Field team. She graduated as a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and the Golden Key National Honor Society. She was a member of the 400 Club and earned the Blanford Award for Varsity Track and Field.

After finishing school, Sarah worked at Intersport Television in Chicago before moving to Los Angeles. She went through six years in Los Angeles where she graduated from the Second City improv comedy studio and worked as a partner producer for "The Final Score" on Fox Sports Net,

Marriage & Husband

Sarah is married to Brad Zibung, a retail estate agent. They got married on May 20, 2016, in Chicago.

Career

Sarah came back to the Midwest in late 2008 to work for Chicago start-up site MouthpieceSports.com. She was a multi-talent there, working as a producer, writer, and columnist. In 2009, Sarah shifted gears, writing a mainstream sports blog on ChicagoNow.com. She was also a repeat guest-host of "ChicagoNow Radio" on WGN AM-720 and was also putting out independent writing. Sarah additionally some sideline reporting for the Big Ten Network and hosted the Coors Light Fantasy Players Minute, an online fantasy football show.

In 2010, Sarah helped host WGN-TV's "Chicago's Best," joining co-hosts Ted Brunson and Brittney Payton to highlight the absolute best beverages and meals in the Windy City. Getting paid to chow down and drink up was hard to beat but when ESPN came calling, the offer was too attractive to consider passing up. Sarah started at Chicago's ESPN 1000 and has since extended her role at the organization.

She became one half of the "Spain and Fitz" radio show, airing weeknights on the national ESPN Radio. She became a writer for espnW.com, host of ESPN's "That is What She Said" podcast. She also became a regular contributor on "Around The Horn" and "SportsCenter".

Hobbies

When she's not watching, discussing or writing about sports, Sarah adores music, food, and wine, improv comedy, tabletop game parties. She also enjoys investing energy with her better half, family and pets. She does charity work and plays sports like volleyball and basketball.
